One of the many reasons to love this pre Summer season in Vancouver - You can spend your morning in the sunny, snow tipped mountains and finish your day at the beach.
So far this season has been so good to us. We recently made a day trip up Seymour for some hiking (excited to have my favourite trails open for Saturday morning walks) and came upon one of my favourite lakes still partially frozen and tinged the most incredible colours.
Evenings by the ocean are hands down my favourite part of Summer. It's pretty incredible to start throwing snowballs in the sun and end bathed in the warmth of the sun on cliffs by the water. i can't wait until it's warm enough to be swimming off these rocks and drying our salty skin in the sun.
On a side note, I've recently gotten back into biking. I traded my cute, vintage, not-so-efficient Apollo for a new, zippy, much more functional bike. I've been riding everyday since. I just want to push myself. It feels good to be doing something active and I love the freedom that comes along with it. I must admit cycling in the city scares me. But I'm conquering my fears (with a substantial, nerdy helmet) and riding to and from work. I can't wait to get a car rack and take the bike on our vacations and some really good day trips.
