Valentines Day is a holiday that is both loved and loathed. When you're single it can be the worst- as Tyler calls it "single awareness day", but when you're with someone it's a day that is hard pressed to not feel fabricated. I've always thought keeping it simple was the way to be able to enjoy it. This year I made a homemade valentine for my love and he surprised me with a much appreciated 'staycation' - man, he's coining terms all over the place. We spent a lovely night in a hotel watching over Vancouver like a couple of creeps, then wandered to cupcakes & the dollar store to load up on sweets to take back to our overnight nest. Sometimes a different setting proves to be the best spark creator. So to any couple without the time/money to spend on an exotic escape, I recommend the overnight getaway in your own city. It's fun to get creative with your person on making a night that will bring you back to just being yourselves together.
Hopefully you spent your v-day in a way that made you happy, coupled up or single. <3
